Abstract

The aim of this research was to map the use and occupation of land in the municipality of Toledo in the years 2000 and 2018, in order to compare and evaluate the environmental impacts resulting from the years. Qgis 3.14 software and the Map Bioma plugin were used to measure the areas and generate the maps. The land use and occupation maps were generated and it can be seen that agriculture occupies 86% of the area in 2000 and 83% in 2018, with both short and long cycle plantations. Considering the information extracted from the use and occupation data, environmental fragility can be associated with the presence of rural properties and agro-industries that use the river for various purposes, including irrigation of agricultural areas.
