Abstract

This research aims to delineate the challenges, opportunities, strategies, and policies involved in the execution of ChatGPT within the context of theological higher education. The ChatGPT application has garnered significant attention and discourse across diverse spheres and facets of human existence. ChatGPT is an automated chatbot platform that can respond to any user inquiry. The current ChatGPT is the fourth generation of technology. The ChatGPT-4 platform employs natural language programming systems, rendering interactions with ChatGPT organic. The ChatGPT-4 exhibits higher information accuracy in comparison to its predecessors. The advanced level of ChatGPT has the potential to be effectively employed in the context of theological higher education. ChatGPT offers numerous advantages to both lecturers and students. Nevertheless, implementing ChatGPT in theological higher education has its challenges. To mitigate this challenge, theological institutions expeditiously devise strategies and policies for utilizing ChatGPT. Therefore, ChatGPT is used suitably by educators and learners. The research methodology employed in this research is a literature study—the sequential steps of data collection, reduction, and display. As the nature of this study is descriptive, all data are displayed descriptively. This research shows challenges, opportunities, strategies, and policies concerning using ChatGPT in theological higher education.
