Abstract

A variational upper bound of the ground state energy of two-dimensional finite Anderson lattices is determined as a function of lattice size (up to 16×16). Two different sets of many-electron basis vectors are used to determine the ground state for all values of the Coulomb integral U. This variational scheme has been successfully tested for one-dimensional models and should give good estimates in two dimensions.
