Abstract

The response of an electronic system to the creation of double and multiple core vacancies is investigated. Under certain conditions the calculations are considerably simplified and a linked-cluster theorem can be formulated for the corresponding core-hole spectra. Particular attention is paid to the relation of properties of double and multiple core holes to those of the well-studied single core holes.
