ABSTRACTCapsule: Abundance and species diversity of both common farmland birds and species of conservation concern were significantly higher at manure heaps compared to open farmland, especially for the Tree Sparrow Passer montanus and Yellowhammer Emberiza citrinella, two declining granivorous farmland birds.
