Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to put up an analysis frame work for formulating manufacturing strategy of IC industry in Taiwan. Starting with a description of macro environment and the unique disintegrated structured of IC industry. It then comes to analyze the strength, weakness, opportunity and threaten (SWOT) of IC industry in Taiwan, and to describe various manufacturing strategies and strategic alliances. The result shows that IC industry in Taiwan has developed the core competence, and there is a good opportunity of optimistic growth in the future.
