Abstract
Manufacturing data collection and management requirements are raised after WDNC built in NC workshop. NC real-time status and machining information such as operators, jobs, downtimes with reasons can be collected. The article compares four different methods of data collection, and combined collection methods can maximize automatic machine data collection and minimize manual data collection. Related topics such as system network structure, important hardware and production management reports are introduced. Results indicate that major manufacturing data can be automatically collected, generated reports give strong support for better decision, and these data also can be directly used in MES/CAPP/ERP.
