Abstract

Experience with strand and cable manufacturing are presented together with mechanical and electrical data. A comparison of the critical currents of the cables with the sum of the critical currents of the 24 individual strands before cabling shows that with the usual definition the cables have practically no degradation. Finally, it is shown how different cable compactions and an additional calibration run through the cabling machine influence the critical current.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
