The first volume in the series,Manual of Endocrine Surgery, appeared six years ago at a price of $40; the page size was smaller (10 1/2×7 1/2 in) but there were more of them (274), so the amount of information contained is similar to the newest volume in the series, with its 204 pages (12×9 in), and comparisons are appropriate.
