Abstract
Healthcare support workers are pivotal to manual handling: they do the care tasks, assess risk and have a wealth of experience and knowledge. Manual handling safety relies on their skills in risk assessment and handling. This article considers the importance of safe manual handling, risk assessment, the law and useful equipment designed to aid the care worker.
