Abstract

A manometric method provided a fairly reliable measurement of the quantity of dehydrochlorinated TDE produced from TDE by aqueous extracts of acetone powders of Epilachna varivestis Mulsant pupae. Dehydrochlorinated TDE was the only significant metabolite of TDE detected by ultraviolet absorption measurements. Addition of the disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetracetic acid significantly prolonged the activity of the dehydrochlorinase.
