Abstract

There is a strong presence of family in Manju Kurian's world. Her lineage is intrinsic to who she is today, coming from a succession of academics and scientists. As a professor of neurogenetics at University College London, she combines her academic role with a clinical one as a consultant paediatric neurologist at the UCL Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Diseases in Children and at Great Ormond Street Hospital, in London, UK, and “can’t imagine doing anything else”.
