Abstract

Childhood phase takes about one sixth of the average human life meaning that a child represents a human and purchasing power cannot be underestimated, and it affects the income and economics of the family. Also, children's clothing is one of the clothing products in which the material represents the main tool where it is used and adapted to obtain innovative and distinct designs. And due to the rapid growth at this stage, it is necessary to be aware of that change that occurs at each age stage, in order to adjust the sizes in order to fit this change so that the child's clothes match the changes that accompany his physical development to achieve the functional, aesthetic and consumer purpose expected from its use and meet his psychological and organic needs, Therefore, the researchers saw the necessity of studying the presentation of an updated view of children's clothing through new technologies, and rom here came the study problem with the title : “ Manipulation of pleating techniques to raise quality performance and life span for children’s clothes “ The problem of the study is: the extent of the possibility of benefiting from the pleating by providing an updated vision for its techniques by using different materials and studying its characteristics, the extent of the possibility of designing children's clothes using the pleating technique with a new vision, and to what extent we can present design proposals, functional and economical for children's clothes that suit the needs of growth? The study aims at: the possibility of benefiting from pleating in presenting an updated vision for its techniques by using different materials and studying their characteristics, in addition to designing children's clothes using the pleating technique with a new vision with the possibility of presenting functional and economic design proposals for children's clothes that suit the needs of growth. The importance of the study is: due to the adaptation of pleating techniques to raise the performance quality and consumption life of children's clothes while achieving an economic benefit by providing innovative solutions that allow the use of the same clothing during growth as it contributes to adding innovative solutions to enrich the field of design and implementation of children's clothing, And it opens new horizons for designers of functional fashion, smart clothes, and professionals in the field of clothing and textile. The study followed the descriptive approach in dealing with the theoretical framework of the study and the experimental approach represented in conducting the research experiment, which is summarized in making design solutions from the proposed techniques and evaluating them from specialists in the field of clothing and textiles and selecting the most suitable to achieve the study hypotheses. The most important findings of the study: After reviewing previous studies, the researchers saw that early childhood from the age of 2: 6 years is the most longitudinal stage in which a child grows. The researchers employed a group of advanced (unconventional) pleating folds, which are characterized by longitudinal and transversal expansion in the proposed designs of 16 designs, as each fold is designed to accommodate the rapid growth of the child at this stage of his life and to raise the performance quality and consumption life. A questionnaire was made to judge the designs, consisting of two main axes, which were judged by the 13 specialists in the field of clothing and textile, and the results came to fulfill the research hypotheses.
