Abstract
This work proposes a method to manipulate the power propagation direction in the parallel-plate waveguide based on a reconfigurable Huygens source. The Huygens source consists of one electric dipole and two magnetic dipoles. The magnitudes and phases of the two magnetic dipoles could control their synthesized magnetic-dipole vector, and thereby leads to the reconfigurability. The proposed reconfigurable Huygens source is then used to feed a parallel-plate waveguide (PPW), where the power propagation direction could be manipulated in the horizontal plane. This reconfigurable Huygens source may pave an effective way in the development of new multi-functional radio frequency (RF) circuits and antennas in the future.
