Abstract

Abstract: The coronavirus COVID-19 is capable of infecting not only internal organs, but also the oral mucosa, both through direct infection and through the body's immune response. The aim of the work was to study the symptoms of oral diseases that first appeared in patients after suffering a coronavirus infection. Results. The analysis of observations of 69 patients, men and women, aged 25 to 58 years, who applied to the clinic of general dentistry within six months, after suffering a coronavirus infection of varying severity. Known that the manifestation of diseases of the hard tissues of the tooth (dental caries), diseases of the oral mucosa and pain syndromes (myofascial pain dysfunctional syndrome of the face) manifested itself for the first time after coronavirus infection. The carried out physical and laboratory research methods revealed changes in the hygienic state of the oral cavity, in the clinical analysis of blood, vitamin deficiency. To clarify the diagnosis and prescription of complex therapy, internist doctors were involved. Conclusions. These indicators can be applied as additional methods for the differential diagnosis of diseases of the maxillofacial region and for objectifying the results of therapy.
