Two dimeric manganese complexes have been prepared and their structures determined using X-ray crystallography. The first is a bis(μ 2 -oxo) complex {[Mn IV (SALPN)O] 2 (1), where SALPN=1,3-bi(salicylideneamino)propane} which had previously been reported to be an Mn(III) dimer of composition [Mn III (SALPN)(OH)] 2
