Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and morbidity of the mandibulotomy approach for surgical clearance of maxillary sinus tumours. Study design: All patients who had undergone maxillectomy using trans-mandibular approach from January 2004 were retrospectively evaluated. Patient demographics, tumour details, resection margin and patient status on follow-up were obtained. Those patients who are disease-free and have a minimum follow-up of 4 months were evaluated for postoperative morbidity. Results: During the mentioned period, 32 patients had undergone maxillectomy for malignant paranasal sinus tumours.
