Abstract

The third lower molars present a higher prevalence of inclusion since they are usually the last teeth to erupt in the oral cavity, thus often having limitations associated with the lack of available space. When the extraction is indicated, relatively common complications associated with it may occur since mandibular fracture is an uncommon complication, both in the transoperative and postoperative periods. The case report aims to expose an uncommon clinical case of a mandibular fracture in the transoperative of third molar extraction by another professional where the patient sought the buccomaxillary surgery service complaining of pain and alteration of bite and a mandibular pleomorphic adenoma that verified the mandibular fracture. Treatment used the Champy technique followed by a final panoramic radiograph. The patient was followed up and was without postoperative complications.
