The giant corporations look at CSR as a business strategy now while only seldom answering to the ‘corporate conscience’ . Taking into consideration this failure of companies to recognize society as a legitimate stakeholder, the government in India responded by ushering a new provision altogether. This recent reformation of the Company Law in India focusing on healthy corporate governance, uncovered a bold move towards CSR which is the subject of discussion.
