Abstract
Today's supply and demand meet in a grocery store. Technological developments enable operational real-time information to plan and control supply chain operations precisely. This development advances demand driven operations management, robust forecasts, accurate production plans and precise operational control over the supply chain. Such a development enhances transition in logistics management as an intra-organisational and supply chain level question towards a real value network, where each party benefits due to more efficient and anticipatory operations. The underlying questions concern how to manage these operations. Based on theoretical elaboration, this research identifies the elements essential in managing daily consumer goods logistics value network. The aim is to develop a framework that comprises the key issues in managing tomorrow's daily consumer goods logistics value network. The potential of the developed framework in practice is initially evaluated in the paper and further development needs and research avenues are presented.
