Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop DBC Model to assist teachers in managing behavioral problems of their students effectively. So, the model with its supplement (enrichment materials) was developed as an intermediate aim based on Research & Development. After writing the model, three-phased formative evaluation suggested by Dick was conducted. In the first phase, subject- matter experts judged the model for conceptual soundness; and also teachers rated the enrichment one for the practical application. And the next two phases of try-out were used to prove the effectiveness of the model when implemented to manage clients/students’ problems. The Single-Subject Design was used in conducting the try out where the change in the client’s behaviors as the effect of the application of the model was recorded repeatedly using observational instruments. The results showed: at the first phase, all experts rated the model as conceptually sound, and the teachers rated the Enrichment Material as easily understood and practical. In the second and third phases, the application of the model resulted in the desirable client behavioral changes; these results indicated that the model was effective in assisting school teachers. The results also indicated no major revision was required. Technicalities required for further use of the model were discussed in the last part.
