Abstract

Cyberattacks by nation states and other organized groups against the United States have continued to escalate in recent years with ever-increasing concerns about ransomware attacks and other cyberattacks on the public sector and critical infrastructures. Society is highly dependent upon these critical infrastructures for water, food, communication, and transportation, to maintain public health and safety. The following article provides an assessment of the United States cybersecurity landscape and provides recommendations to ensure cyber protection and security readiness of critical infrastructures for the future.
