Abstract
High blood pressure is associated with poor outcome after stroke but it is not known if existing antihypertensive drugs should be temporarily withdrawn or continued. This trial compared a group given transdermal glyceryl trinitrate with a group not receiving this treatment and also compared patients who continued existing antihypertensive drugs with those who stopped taking them.
