Abstract

There is a widespread recognition of inevitability of conflicts by the modern organisations. Some organisations perceive this inevitability as a natural process which in certain measure leads to opportunity for growth and healthy competitive trend. The key of making best of such intra-organisation conflicts lies in the role of managers at different levels as per the basics of organisational behaviour, with due accent on conflict management. The managers need to appropriately evaluate the nature and level of such conflicts and decide upon the means and measures for reduction or reassurance of conflicts. The conflict management within an organisation need to be focussed upon optimum performance within the conflicts. An objective examination of conflicts and their impacts also leads employees’ awareness about the importance and inevitability of conflicts in the organisation as a factor of performance of the organisation. The emphasis on conflict perception and its influence on the organisation's performance are strategic to achievement of organisational goals in a vigorous manner.
