Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research paper is to explore tourism data ecosystems in five Caribbean countries. Tourism data ecosystems were mapped using an ownership, sharing, and use actor network. Within the context of open data, one key finding is that organizations responsible for national statistics are better-enabled owners of tourism data than organizations responsible for tourism. This paper argues for the development of an effective and efficient tourism data ecosystem to aid industry stakeholders while impacting decision making in the tourism sector.
