Abstract

The International Information Centre and Archives of the Women's Movement (IIAV), located in the Netherlands, provides information on the position of women and women's studies. The IIAV was founded in 1935 and preserves a historical and a current collection of women's periodicals. Collection development and selection policies used in the IIAV are described. The IIAV used to try to have at least one journal from each country in the world, but this is no longer possible in an austere financial climate. Choices have to be made and are determined by the money that is available but also by the major focal points of the IIAV collection: women's studies and providing information on Black, migrant and refugee women.
