Abstract

Abstract The huge undertaking of the construction of the Channel Tunnel by a consortium of French and British construction companies and international bankers will have many lessons in the management of any such projects undertaken by the private sector in future. The author, who has been involved in the financing and corporate management of the Tunnel believes that such projects must involve government responsibility and government needs to prime the private sector to promote such large international projects in an orderly and efficient manner.
