Abstract

Local Area Network(LAN) resides in organizations such as company, university and so on. In recent years, with the development of technology, these networks become large scale and consist of a large number of devices, and make the management of these networks difficult in terms of flexibility due to the constraint condition occupied by the devices and the lack of professional skilled management for these networks. In most cases, we control the management policy for the communication on LAN based on the promises made in advance for the communication by using Virtual Local Area Network(VLAN) technologies such as “Port-Based VLAN”, “Tagged VLAN” and “User-Based VLAN”. These technologies manage the communication policy by separating LAN into some parts of a network segment and managing them centrally and prevent the network congestion and the information leak. However, these technologies have some problems such as the difficulty of changing network layout and the physical restrictions of lower-layer. In this paper, we present a management system which solves these problems. The proposed system gives the user managing the network easily. In detail, we propose the system that separates the network into some virtual network groups as the units for the communication on the customized system and manages the communication among these groups by associating the client as a device on the physical system with the groups. The system works as a software defined function by using the embedded packet which is made by both Virtual Network Interface Card(VNIC) and the specific information of the device.
