Whether materials are born or reborn digital, their management for the longterm is something that almost all libraries are having to consider, and though in terms of the satisfaction of user need the role of the library is no different that it ever was—to bring information to users or users to information—digital content management brings into play a whole range of new factors and requires new skills of librarians
The better a digitization project is planned, the more likely it is that the digital materials will have a long and useful life
