Abstract

We analyzed the regimes of deep grinding by comparing the speeds of icrease in the intensity of metal removal in the sector of a circle (generator line of abrasive circle), the central angle of which is determined by its radius and volumes of given deepening Such approach allowed studying the physics of the dispersion process at different speeds and the deepening in the actual zones of contact of an individual grain from the point of the actual penetration in the contact zones of a single grain (circle point) with the treated surface from the grain’s penetration into the metal to its release, during both normal and creep feed grinding. In this paper we show that in the process of creep feed grinding the intensity of the increase of its removal rate is lower than in the standard process with equal absolute amounts of metal removed during contact. We came to a conclusion that the process of deep grinding has the productivity reserves by means of increasing the speed (rotation and longitudinal feed) without the risk of thermal defects emergence.
