Abstract

Severe thrombocytopenia is a cause of morbidity and mortality for patients with COVID-19 infection. The common causes of thrombocytopenia in these patients are; sepsis, drug-associated, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), heparin-associated thrombocytopenia (HIT), microangiopathic hemolytic anemia (MAHA). Recently, cases of COVID-19 infection-associated Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) have been reported in the literature.
