25 patients with persistent globus symptoms were treated by speech therapy aimed at relieving vocal tract discomfort and tension. This approach led to an improvement in symptoms in 23 patients (92 per cent), with complete or near complete resolution in 18 patients (72 per cent). Essential and complementary strategies for treatment are suggested. The results are discussed in the context of current knowledge.
