Abstract

Ringworm is an important disease in the rescue shelter environment. While dermatophytosis is generally considered to be a mild and self-limiting disease, there is a need to manage it more aggressively in charity-owned cats than when presented in client-owned cats. This article considers the implications of ringworm in rescue shelters, and discusses diagnostic, treatment and homing approaches in this context.
