Abstract

Abstract Depression is seen to be the most common illness around the world. Report by WHO, NCRB & Human Resource Development Ministry in Parliament reflected students’ suicides in the country. The Study focuses on management of depression, anxiety and stress among undergraduate students and does not cover other mental health issues faced. The causes of the problem include living situation, family income, stressors including fear of examination failure, academic stress, criticism and financial responsibilities. The research design used in the study is Quasi experimental design. Hundred students from Mahatma Gandhi University voluntarily participated in the study. The experimental group received three-month psychoeducational training program. The DASS 21 and Sociodemographic questionnaire were used to assess the student's psychological state. The results showed that about 70 to 90% of students came down to normal level of depression, anxiety, and stress after undergoing the psycho educational training program. The training program helped in the improvement of mental wellbeing of the students and can be used under any circumstances where low mental health has been noted.
