Abstract

Rationale: Catheter-related bacteremia (CRB) is regarded as a life-threatening complication of home parenteral nutrition (HPN) support. Therefore optimal CRB management, preferably with salvage of the catheter, is required to secure vascular access in the long term. The aim of this review was to systematically evaluate the currently available literature for CRB treatments in adult patients on HPN support.
