Abstract
Aberrant pa thways of the in ternal carot id artery are wel l descr ibed in case reports involving ch i ldren and adults. This abnormal i ty is typica l ly a symptomat ic and is mos t often diagnosed dur ing ear surgery. Al though m a n y embryological and acqui red theories describe the d e v e l o p m e n t of an aberrant pa thway of the internal carot id ar tery th rough the t empora l bone, little has been repor ted on the managemen t of such anomalies. We present a rare case repor t of bilateral aberrant in ternal carot id arteries d iscovered dur ing t y m p a n o s t o m y tube p lacement in a child.
