Abstract

The paper traces the development of thought on management education leading up to the present day and what is described as the “systems concept” of management. The development of this concept in courses at the University of Strathclyde, Churchill College, Cambridge, and the undergraduate course at University of Khartoum is discussed. The relationship of training for operational research and the use of operational research in management training is also discussed.
