Abstract

This paper suggests that our business training programs be internationalized because business no longer operates within the so-called American or domestic environment. The world is interdependent and the environment in which companies operate is international. Reporting on trends in employment, Business Week1 indicates a growing need for executives with international skills. This trend is merely the beginning of a new trend. Competition for the limited supply of executives with international skills will intensify. As the firm shifts (whether voluntarily or involuntarily) its focus to the international environment, it no longer needs American marketing, management, accounting, or finance experts. Instead, it needs international experts with ability to solve problems arising from operation within an international environment.
