Abstract

Simon C. H. Wong is Head of Academic Programmes in the School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University. He argues that the use of computer-based systems for management decision support has increased rapidly in recent years. In this paper he examines the theoretical aspects of decision support systems. The models of management and decision-making processes and frameworks which such an approach entails are discussed. The possibilities of the use of computers to support effective educational administration using such an approach are illustrated using practical examples.
