Abstract

‘Management by projects’ is the central management strategy for the ‘new’ project-oriented company. Project-oriented companies carry out small and large projects, internal and external projects, and unique and repetitive projects to cope with new challenges and potential in a dynamic business environment. An appropriate corporate structure and culture of the project-oriented company supports the management of single projects and networks of projects carried out simultaneously by the company. To carry out different types of project, differentiated project-management approaches have to be applied. A systemic project perception and new project-management methods are required.
