Abstract

The Karnak temples complex is considered one of the largest and the most significant open-air sites all over the world. It represents a real record of the history and the civilization of Egypt from the Middle Kingdom up to the reign of Ptolemies. During all over the historical epochs and eras the tangible heritage of Karnak complex was subjected to the deterioration factors, one of the various agents of damage is the anthropogenic factor that has played a fundamental role in the degradation processes. The aim of this paper is to discuss the different patterns of man-made and unskilled workers deterioration resulting from the wrong human activities and their features in Karnak complex throughout the history.
