Abstract

When the BVerfG had judged about the assisted suicide on Feb 26th, 2020 some emphasize the free autonomy of people who want to die, others want to do everything to inhibit assisted suicides and point out alternatives. Both are right. It is important to protect old, ill and weak persons and offer good and enough palliative care and hospices. Also important is: People, who have suffered for a long time and desire nothing but death and know what they ask for, must get assistance in dying.
