Abstract

The Iraqi society, in general, and the rural areas, in particular, suffers from a recognized patriarchal dominance. This is despite the fact that each of the two sexes constitutes a significance part in the social fabric and in life in general. This is the main reason behind studying the main aspects of family's life. The researcher examines this problem through the prism of rural man's ignorance and how he himself and his family as well are affected by it. The researcher, furthermore, examines the methods that are followed to generate certain social system that view man and woman differently. The importance of this study stems from the desire to explain how man dominates women. The research also explains how rural society should determine an equal vision towards man and women. The researcher concludes that the main reason behind rural man's ignorance is the sudden change in society in the aftermath of 2003. This is enhance by the illegal relations that are conducted by man and have been accepted by society. All of this makes man stronger in society. The researcher presented, finally, suggestions about the awareness programs regarding women rights in the rural society.
