Abstract

Malignant struma ovarii account for 5-10% of struma ovarii, representing 2% of ovarial teratomas. Spreading of this malignancy is rare and can be found in only 5% of the cases. According to the literature this can affect the peritoneum and may include lymphatic or hematogenic dissemination. We describe the case of a 36-year-old patient with a follicular thyroid carcinoma based on a malignant struma ovarii with primary hepatic involvement.
