Abstract
2-phenyl ethanol was identified as the major component in extracts of the abdominal brushes of male Peridroma saucia. An avg. 2.7 μg was recovered from each brush irrespective of ♂ age or generations reared on artificial diet. Scent organ structure and chemistry are discussed in relation to the systematics of this species.
