Abstract

267 men responded to a questionnaire measuring lifestyle and demographic characteristics in relation to selection of clothing for professional and social situations. For professional situations selection of clothing was based on concern about appearance. In social situations, activities and attitudes toward traditional ideas influenced selection. Demographically as income, profession, education, and age increased selection of clothing became more conservative.
