Abstract

This study empirically validates the knowledge management conceptual framework that explains the relationship between an institution’s pedagogical approach and field-based projects (FBPs) vis-a-vis student preparedness for the job market. The 431 Indian B-school students sample is collected to validate the knowledge management conceptual framework. A structured questionnaire designed on a five-point Likert scale has been used based on purposive sampling. The goodness of fit is validated by applying a structural equation modelling (SEM) approach. The association between various variables is investigated using path analysis for hypothesis testing. The findings of this study indicate that the factors such as benchmarking against global practices (BAGP), FBPs, industry connects (IC) and organizational aspiration (OA) have significant impacts on the students’ learning outcomes and their subsequent transformation into industry-ready future jobs. These factors help infuse the necessary skills and experiential learning into students who look to prepare for future employment through knowledge-intensive organizations. This study also highlights the factors that B-schools should focus on to improve graduates’ employability and industrial performance.
