Abstract

During a period of retrenchment in higher education, many faculty members will find themselves unemployed during summer months. The authors suggest that workshop projects held for government officials and interested citizens, and funded through government or university grants-in-aid, can provide the political scientist with the opportunity for professional growth and enrichment of his or her practical knowledge base, and also make political science theory and research techniques more relevant for those outside the university community.
