Abstract
Species-site selection decisions based on average volumes alone do not account for risk. However, stochastic dominance analysis (SDA) can be used to choose risk-efficient alternatives for decision makers who are either risk-neutral or risk-averse by comparing distribution functions of volumes. SDA, along with the mean variance and expected value rules, is used to make species-site selection decisions using fourth-year volumes from a species comparison trial of ten eucalyptus species in the southeastern Transvaal, South Africa. Comparisons are made for different soil depths, soil types and altitudes.
