Abstract

ONE OF THE PRIMARY PURPOSES of National Nutrition Month and Registered Dietitian Day, both of which we celebrate this month, is to demonstrate to the world that we are the trusted leaders who provide the straight story on food and nutrition for the public, the media, other health providers, policy makers, and all groups and individuals. Earning and keeping this reputation enables us to meet the Academy's strategies of enabling practitioners to position ourselves as leaders in our field, and assuring competence through education and professional development opportunities for career success.
